Our client is a globally operating leader in process chemicals, specializing in innovative and sustainable solutions for industrial applications. As part of its strategic expansion in the North American paper chemicals market, the company is building a strong technical sales and service organization in the United States.
The company is seeking to hire a hands-on Sales Manager (m/f/d) - South East USA to support this growth initiative. This role will be instrumental in establishing and strengthening customer relationships through technical expertise and on-site support.
Driven by its expansion strategy in North America, the company is investing in a dedicated technical service presence close to key customers in the paper and tissue industry. The objective is to accelerate customer acquisition, ensure successful product implementation, and deliver high-quality technical support directly at the mill level.
This hire represents a critical step in building a scalable and customer-centric technical organization in the U.S.
Description
- Drive business growth in the U.S. paper and tissue market with full sales responsibility
- Identify, approach, and acquire new customers in the assigned region
- Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract closing
- Develop and expand existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling
- Position our client's products using a value-based selling approach (e.g. cost savings, efficiency gains, performance improvements)
- Use technical trials as a strategic sales tool to demonstrate product value and secure long-term business
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders (operators, engineers, plant managers, procurement)
- Maintain a strong on-site presence at customer mills to identify opportunities and strengthen partnerships
- Translate technical findings into clear commercial arguments and business cases
- Collaborate closely with Sales Director, R&D, and technical teams to support customer development
- Actively contribute to building Petrofer’s market presence and customer base in North America
Your Profile
- Technical background (e.g. chemical engineering, pulp & paper, industrial chemistry or similar)
- Clear sales mindset with strong interest or experience in technical sales
- Experience in paper chemicals, paper/tissue production, or process industries
- Ability to translate technical performance into commercial value (e.g. cost savings, efficiency gains)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with operators up to senior management
- Hands-on mentality with willingness to work on-site at customer mills
- High level of self-motivation, ownership, and target orientation
- Willingness to travel extensively within the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license
