As part of its strategic expansion in the North American paper chemicals market, the company is building a strong technical sales and service organization in the United States.
The company is seeking to hire a hands-on Technical Service Engineer (m/f/d) - South East USA to support this growth initiative. This role will be instrumental in establishing and strengthening customer relationships through technical expertise and on-site support.
Driven by its expansion strategy in North America, the company is investing in a dedicated technical service presence close to key customers in the paper and tissue industry. The objective is to accelerate customer acquisition, ensure successful product implementation, and deliver high-quality technical support directly at the mill level.
This hire represents a critical step in building a scalable and customer-centric technical organization in the U.S.
Description
- Execute and coordinate on-machine trials for chemical applications (e.g., Yankee coatings, release agents, enzymes)
- Operate and adjust dosing systems, pumps, and feed equipment during trials
- Optimize application parameters such as feed rates, dilution levels, and add-on quantities
- Troubleshoot process issues including coating adhesion, sheet pick, moisture balance, creping quality, and machine efficiency
- Conduct regular service visits to customer mills, including equipment inspections and performance monitoring
- Collect and analyze samples (e.g., viscosity, pH, surface properties) and coordinate laboratory testing when required
- Prepare structured reports on trials, service visits, and performance data
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders (Sales, R&D, global technical teams)
- Track chemical consumption, inventory levels, and forecast customer demand
- Support sales activities by identifying process improvements and additional application opportunities
- Build strong relationships with operators, engineers, and decision-makers at customer sites
- Coordinate logistics, equipment delivery, and product availability with internal and external partners
Your Profile
- Degree or technical background in chemical engineering, pulp & paper, mechanical engineering, industrial chemistry, or a related field
- Several years of experience in paper mill operations, tissue production, chemical applications, or process engineering
- Hands-on experience working on paper machines and related equipment (e.g., Yankee dryers, spray systems, dosing units)
- Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role with high travel frequency across the U.S.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder interaction
- High level of reliability, accountability, and safety awareness
- Valid driver’s license
